Tis the season for giving and SD SportScene has a special gift for our subscribers.

We sincerely thank each one of you for your support during the past year and are pleased to announce that after much anticipation, the official SD SportScene app is now available on the App Store and free to our subscribers. Those with iphones should be able to use it immediately, while those with Android devices will need to wait for a brief period.

For those who access the site on your phone, the app should appear at the top of your screen. For those who access the site on a tablet or computer, there is a link to the app information on the top menu bar. You can also get detailed instructions on the mobile app on the Help and Support page.

While the app is not identical to the site, it is extremely close and features the same quality stories and photos that are on the website. We believe the app, which is sponsored by Dacotah Bank, will allow you to access the site quicker and easier than before. Consider it our gift to you, just in time for Christmas.

While the weather continues to alter winter sports schedules (more games were postponed for this evening), we have been preparing for the five-day moratorium for high school sports which goes into effect tomorrow. We have plenty of quality content already lined up, so be sure to check the site daily.

In addition to fun feature stories, SD SportScene will run the year end sports awards, celebrating the top high school and collegiate teams, coaches and athletes of the past year on Christmas Eve Day. The following two days will feature the Best of 2022. We will start with the Quotes of the Year on Christmas and the next day run the Photos of the Year. I have already seen the images that John Davis has selected and trust me, you won’t want to miss it. The year end quotes and photos were a big hit last year, and we probably have as much fun compiling them as we hope you do seeing them.

Not only that, we also have some exciting plans for the future. We will release more details when we get closer to those taking place.
