The majority of the top-rated teams retained their positions in this week’s media basketball polls.

Sioux Falls Jefferson is the only new number one, moving into the top spot in Class AA girls.

One of the new teams garnering attention in this week’s polls is Aberdeen Central in Class AA boys. The Golden Eagles, on the strength of back-to-back wins over Brandon Valley and Pierre (teams currently rated fourth and fifth), received a vote in this week’s poll.

Aberdeen Christian continues to be the unanimous choice as the top team in Class B boys. The Knights host Dell Rapids, which is receiving votes in Class A boys, on Saturday afternoon at the Aberdeen Civic Arena. Hamlin is receiving 15 of the 18 first-place votes in Class A girls. The other votes are going to second-rated Vermillion. The two teams will square off in the NEC-Dak XII Clash Saturday in Madison.

Wolsey-Wessington continues to be rated second in Class B girls and Warner is receiving votes. Florence-Henry is receiving votes in Class A girls. Wolsey-Wessington is receiving votes in Class B boys.
