Saints fall to Mayville State in final game in program history

MAYVILLE, N.D. – Tuesday night marked the official end of Presentation College men’s basketball.

The Saints dropped a 91-63 decision to Mayville State during the North Star Athletic Association playoffs in their final game in school history. PC announced it was closing its campus at the end of the summer.

The Comets pulled away from a 36-28 halftime edge by scoring 55 points in the final 20 minutes.

Thomas Gieske had 18 points to lead five players in double-figure scoring for Mayville, which shot 67 percent from the field. Trent Blackshire followed with 15, Jamison Kramer added 14, and Juan Carlos Canahuate and Jacque Safra each finished with 10.

The Saints were led by Isaiah Cabrera with 17 points. Jeremiah Gilyard contributed 10, and Travez Nyx added nine.

Presentation College finished the year at 6-20.
