This time of the year is always an exciting time for sports fans. Most of the squads are in the process of preparing for post-season action with state tournaments right around the corner.

It’s also an exciting time for those of us with SD SportScene, because we are marking our second anniversary of existence. That’s right, SD SportScene launched two years ago this week and it has been a fun-filled, memorable start to our journey.

First of all, thank you to all of our subscribers for your support of the site. We could not and would not do this without you. We trust that you are enjoying all that SD SportScene has to offer and are prepared for more quality content in the year ahead.

Of course, we would not exist without our faithful sponsors which allow the site to function and grow. If you get an opportunity, please visit our sponsor page and refresh your memory of all of the entities that support SD SportScene.

This year you have probably witnessed some notable expansion of the site. This past fall we added a half dozen more teams to our coverage area, the addition of the weekly Schwan Financial Premier Performers list, a scoreboard page that is updated with scores from all across the state, and this past winter the official SD SportScene app thanks to Dacotah Bank. (An Android version should be coming out this week).

We also have big plans ahead for the upcoming year. We will likely add more high school teams (the group is yet to be determined), and also have a couple of other features in mind that we think you will be very excited about. Stay tuned for more details in the days and months ahead.

While the site has changed a great deal since its inception, two things have not. We have not raised our prices because we want everyone to be able to afford a subscription to SD SportScene. With the additional content on the site, we believe the value is bigger than ever. The other thing that hasn’t changed and never will is our commitment to bring you the best sports coverage in the region.

As we mark this two-year anniversary, we again want to say thank you for being a part of SD SportScene. We hope that you have enjoyed the past two years, and look forward to continuing to provide the best sports coverage in our region. Let the winter sports post-season commence.
