TIMBER LAKE – The bracket is officially set for the Class B Boys’ State Basketball Tournament next week in Aberdeen as the Faith Longhorns punched the final ticket with a 75-64 SoDak 16 win over Northwestern Thursday night.

The Wildcats went toe-to-toe with the Longhorns for much of the first quarter, trailing 17-12 until Faith’s Jackson Schauer was fouled on a made 3-point basket. Schauer converted the ensuing free-throw, stretching the Longhorns’ lead to nine points.

Faith took advantage of several Northwestern miscues in the second period to open a commanding 47-25 halftime lead. However, the Wildcats were determined to not go away.

Northwestern used a strong third quarter to grab the momentum. The Wildcats sliced the Faith lead down to 58-51 early in the fourth quarter, but could not get any closer the rest of the way.

Schauer led Faith (22-1) with 29 points, while Caden Selby had 18. Jess Harper totaled 13 points and eight rebounds, and Matthew Gray added 10 points and eight rebounds.
