Opdahl, Kelly lead Eastern Coteau Conference awards

The Eastern Coteau Conference has announced its all-conference boys’ and girls’ basketball teams.

First team all-conference boys’ members are senior Jonathon Johnston, junior Damon Opdahl and senior Jackson Wohlleber of Waubay-Summit, senior Mehki Keller of Florence-Henry, and senior Landon Maag of Waverly-South Shore

Second team selections are senior BoDell Davison of Britton-Hecla, junior Kaleb Foltz of Tri-State, junior Alex Heil of Great Plains Lutheran, senior Troy Kneeland of Waverly-South Shore, and senior Peyton Roe of Florence-Henry.

The Most Valuable Player is Damon Opahl of Waubay-Summit, and Coach of the Year is Mark Amdahl of Waubay-Summit.

First team all-conference girls’ members are junior Eva Benike of Waubay-Summit, senior Nora Braun and sophomore Shali Laurence of Tri-State, and junior Caylin Kelly and senior Trinity Watson of Florence-Henry.

Second team selections are junior Halle Bauer and junior Olivia Holmen of Great Plains Lutheran, eighth-grader Addison Heinje of Wilmot, sophomore Faith Larson of Waubay-Summit, and junior Taylor Watson of Florence-Henry.

The Most Valuable Player is Caylin Kelly of Florence-Henry, and Coach of the Year is Mitch Reed of Florence-Henry.
