HURON – Top-seeded Wolsey-Wessington is headed to the Class B girls’ state basketball tournament after the Warbirds took control early and rolled to a 58-23 win over Leola-Frederick in the SoDak 16 on Thursday night.
Wolsey-Wessington will face Jones County in the opening round of the state tournament at noon on Thursday at the Huron Arena, the same venue where the Warbirds won the 281 Conference tournament championship, their Region 2B semifinal game, and now their SoDak contest.
Mallory Miller led the victory with 22 points to go along with four rebounds and four steals. Leah Williams followed with 15 points, and Mya Boomsma contributed eight points. Wolsey-Wessington improved to 21-2 on the season.

Sofia Losure led the Titans with eight points and Chloe Arneson followed with six. Leola-Frederick finished its season with a 16-7 record.
