Athletes excel at CWL Cylone Invitational

CLARK – A variety of area athletes found their way to first-place finishes during the CWL Cyclone Invitational track and field meet on Tuesday.

There were numerous individuals who won multiple events.

On the boys’ side, Clark-Willow Lake’s Owen Spieker won both hurdles races, and RJ Perry of Great Plains Lutheran won the shot put and discus. Gavin Witt and Martin Dorsett of Webster won the 100 and 200, respectively, and won on winning 800-meter and 1,600-meter relay squads.

In the girls’ division, Sophie Kannas of Great Plains Lutheran won the 100 and 200, and ran on the winning 800-meter relay team. Taylor Watson and Trinity Watson won the 400 and 800, respectively, and ran on the first place 1,600-meter relay squad. Kamryn Nesheim of Clark-Willow lake won the 1,600 and also ran on the winning 3,200-meter relay team.
