RAPID CITY – Aberdeen Roncalli finished play at the Rapid City Invitational with a pair of doubles victories during ninth place matches on Saturday.

The Cavaliers, who had to rearrange their doubles a bit due to injury and a prior commitment, did not have an entry at top flight doubles. Roncalli finished ninth in team points.

The team of Palmer Johnson and Sawyer Henrich teamed up at second flight doubles and blanked a foe from Rapid City Central in their final match of the tournament.

The duo of Jayden Reecy and Jacob Bellefeuille were involved in some close matches on the day and finished off the weekend of action with an 8-5 win over a team from St. Thomas More.

“It was fun to watch some great matches against fresh competition,” said Roncalli coach Paige Hermanson. “I’m really looking forward to the next few weeks leading up to the state tournament, and seeing what all we can fit into the few remaining practice days we have to give it our best shot.”

Roncalli will be right back in action on Tuesday when the Cavaliers face cross-town foe Aberdeen Central at 1:30 p.m. at the Holgate Courts.
