A pair of Aberdeen Central athletes moved into first place this week following standout performances Monday at the Pierre Legion Relays.
Ciara Frank, who already owned the top Class AA mark in the long jump, took over the top spot in the high jump this week following a leap of 5-feet, 5-inches.
Meanwhile, Aiden Heimann moved up one position from second to first in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles after he clocked a time of :40.28 in Pierre. The senior is also fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles.
Heimann is part of the top 1,600-meter relay squad which also includes Gabe Johnson, Carter Dingman and Drew Salfrank.
Other Central athletes also moved up the ranks this past week. Salfrank now has the second fastest time in the 400-meter dash and is joined by Dingman who is seventh, Taryn Hermansen moved from fourth to second in the shot put, and Addison Everson jumped into the statewide leaders and is now tied for seventh in the triple jump.

Tyler Bain is tied for fourth in the high jump, Brian Johnson is sixth in the discus, Regan Lust is tied for fourth in the high jump, the boys’ 800-meter relay team is seventh and the 3,200-meter relay is fifth, and the girls’ 400-meter relay is tied for seventh.
