Groton blanks Oldham-Ramona-Rutland-Arlington

OLDHAM – Groton racked up 13 hits, while Bradin Althoff tossed a one-hitter on the way to a 10-0 high school baseball win over Oldham-Ramona-Rutland-Arlington on Sunday.

Groton scored three times in the second, added four more in the third and then ended the game on the 10-run rule with three runs in the sixth.

Tate Larson, Dillon Abeln and Braxton Imrie each drove in runs in the third as Groton extended its lead to 7-0. Larson added his second RBI-double in the sixth, before Logan Ringgenberg ended the game on a two-run single.

Larson and Abeln each finished with three hits and drove in a pair, while Althoff and Ringgenberg both had two hits. Both of Althoff’s hits were triples. Ringgenberg and Imrie both had two RBI.

Meanwhile, Althoff was in control on the mound, striking out four and walking just one batter.
