Ipswich boys, Mobridge-Pollock girls claims Potter County titles

GETTYSBURG – The Ipswich boys and Mobridge-Pollock girls claimed team championships during the Potter County Invitational track and field meet Saturday.

Ipswich scored 157 points in the boys’ division, while Mobridge-Pollock accumulated 134 points on the girls’ side. The two schools reversed runner-up finishes with Mobridge-Pollock taking second in boys’ team points and Ipswich ending up in second in girls’ points.

Faulkton’s Daniel Stoll recorded four first-place finishes on the day, winning the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, and running on the winning 400-meter and 1,600-meter relay teams.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Ryli Thompson and Heidi Olson each claimed three victories. Thompson won the 100-meter and 400-meter dashes, and ran on the first place 800-meter relay team. Olson topped the field in the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs, and was a member of the winning 3,200-meter relay squad.

A pair of other area athletes won two open events. Nicholas Schlachter of Potter County won the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs, and Redfield’s Camryn Rohlfs won the 200-meter dash and the long jump.
