TYNDALL – Ipswich track and field athletes had a big day Tuesday at the Jim Flaveras Border Battle in Tyndall. The Tigers won the girls’ team championship and finished second in the boys’ division.
Marley Guthmiller won both 100-meter and 300-meter intermediate hurdles and also the pole vault to power the Ipswich girls. Madisyn Gellhaus topped the field in the 3,200-meter run.
On the boys’ side, Ipswich won a pair of field events as Tyler Hettich captured the high jump and Trevor Heinz took the long jump, and Carter Geditz beat the field in the 110-meter high hurdles.
