The Aberdeen Roncalli tennis team split a pair of 5-4 decisions Tuesday afternoon, exacting a measure of revenge in the process. The Cavaliers, who lost four tiebreakers in a 5-4 loss to Roosevelt less than 10 days ago, got the reversal of fortune they needed, specifically in the form of Cason Hellwig’s victory at No. 1 singles, to begin the day. “We knew last time we could beat them, but we fell short,” Hellwig said. “We just had to step up our game a little bit.” Hellwig set the tone in that endeavor, taking a 10-3 victory over Roosevelt’s Brock Kruger. “Last time, I got a little frustrated during the match, which ended up causing me to lose, I think,” Hellwig said. “This time I just tried to keep my cool.” And if it was revenge he wanted, he certainly got it.
