NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – The Aberdeen Roncalli girls’ golf program kicked off its season with a 10th place showing at the Dakota Valley Invite Monday at Two Rivers Golf Course in North Sioux City, Iowa.

The Cavaliers were led by Claire Crawford, who finished in a tie for 26th with her round of 98. Grace Seyer was just back in a tie for 33rd and Morgan Helms tied for 49th.

“I’m happy with how the girls played today for their first round of the year,” said Roncalli coach Jon Murdy. “There are areas we can improve on and areas we can build from.”

Sioux Falls Christian claimed the team title by seven strokes over second-place Vermillion.

The Cavaliers are set to head to Redfield Thursday for the Pheasant Invite.

“I’m looking forward to watching the girls improve each meet this spring,” Murdy said.
