ST. CLOUD – The Aberdeen Wings had their season come to a close in a 3-0 loss to St. Cloud Friday night. The contest concluded a Central Division NAHL hockey playoff series sweep for the Norsemen, a team that Aberdeen had defeated four straight games in the final two weeks of the regular season to get into the postseason.
While the Wings were outshot by just four in the series clincher, they were never able to get a puck past St. Cloud goalie Ethan Dahlmier who had 21 saves.
The Norsemen received a first-period goal by Carter Bradley and that’s all the hosts needed. The score remained 1-0 until St. Cloud added a pair of goals in the third period, including an empty netter in the last minute for the final margin of difference.
Wings goalie Cole Moore had another strong effort in net, stopping 22 shots.

St. Cloud was able to keep the Aberdeen offense in check throughout the series, allowing just two goals and recording back-to-back shutouts.
The Norsemen will advance to the Central Division finals to face Austin. The regular-season division champion Bruins completed a series sweep over Minot on Friday night.
