While there won’t be an official track and field meet in Aberdeen this season, there will be an official field meet.

Aberdeen Central recently put together a meet that will feature only field events. It will take place on Tuesday at the Brownell Activities Complex. The pole vault and javelin will start at 3 p.m., with other field events to follow at 4 p.m.

The meet is sanctioned so that athletes will be able to qualify for the upcoming state meet next week in Sioux Falls.

In addition to Central, teams expected to participate include Aberdeen Roncalli, Ipswich, Watertown and Warner.
