WATERTOWN – Castlewood won both team championships during the Region 1B Pre-Region Golf Tournament on Monday.

The Warriors edged Hamlin by five strokes in the boys’ division, and won the girls’ crown by 17 strokes over Clark-Willow Lake.

Castlewood’s Lane Tvedt was the boys’ medalist with a 77, two strokes better than teammate Larz Tvedt. Brynn Roehrich of Clark-Willow Lake also shot a 77 on the way to winning the girls’ individual title.

Aberdeen Christian had four golfers all within six strokes of each other, led by Jett Johnson with a 105.

“It was beautiful weather. A great day to play golf finally,” said Christian coach Tyler Pridey. “It was a good practice round for the boys to get comfortable with the golf course and prepare them to qualify for state next week on Monday at regions.”
