The Milbank Area boys and Mobridge-Pollock girls both had relay squads move up the Class A track and field leaderboards this past week thanks to stellar performances at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays last weekend and the Capital City Qualifier earlier this week.

The Milbank Area Sprint Medley relay and 3,200-meter relay squads both inched ahead in the leaders. Both teams went from fourth to second this week.

Meanwhile, Mobridge-Pollock did not have a relay team among the leaders last week and now has three of them. The Tigers are currently seventh in the 800 and 1,600 relays, and eighth in the 3,200 relay.

Hamlin’s Gracelyn Leiseth continues to lead the girls’ shot put and discus, while Aberdeen Roncalli’s Jayden Munroe is first in the boys’ long jump and second in the triple jump.

Kami Wadsworth of Hamlin is first in the javelin, and second in both the shot put and discus.

Other area leaders on the boys’ side include: Simon Fried of Mobridge-Pollock (second in the 300 hurdles), Zac VanMeeteren of Hamlin (third in the 300), Ricky Berndt of Deuel (third in the 1,600 and sixth in the 800), Lucas Johnson of Great Plains Lutheran (tied for third in the high jump), Oliver Fieber of Deuel (fourth in the 100), Drew Reetz of Webster, and Jayden Johnson of Milbank Area (tied for fourth in the pole vault), Cristhian Rodriguez of Hamlin (fifth in the javelin), Kaden St. Pierre of Hamlin (sixth in the discus), Adam Moe of Florence-Henry (sixth in the high jump), Payton Brown of Milbank Area (seventh in the 800), Alex Schumacher of Miller (seventh in the 1,600), RJ Perry of Great Plains Lutheran (seventh in the shot put), and Harley Zemlika of Milbank Area (eighth in the 110 hurdles). Other relay teams are Hamlin (third in the 400, 800 and 1,600), Deuel (fifth in the medley), and Milbank Area (eighth in the 1,600).
