Class A Track and Field Leaders

A few area athletes inched up the Class A Track and Field Leaderboard this past week.

A pair of Great Plains Lutheran runners showed up in new events. Sophie Kannas is now eighth in the 100-meter dash, while teammate Halle Bauer is eighth in the 800-meter run. Bauer continues to be seventh in the 1,600. Redfield’s Camryn Rohlfs is now eighth in the 400 and continues to be sixth in the long jump.

Meanwhile, Hamlin’s Zac VanMeeteren is up one spot to second in the 200, and Deuel’s Oliver Fieber jumped into eighth spot in the 200. Drew Reetz of Webster moved into a tie for third in the pole vault.

Aberdeen Roncalli’s Jayden Munroe continues to lead the long jump and is second in the triple jump. Hamlin’s Gracelyn Leiseth tops the shop put and discus, and teammate Kami Wadsworth tops the javelin.

Other area boys’ leaders include: Simon Fried of Mobridge-Pollock (second in the 300 hurdles), Lucas Johnson of Great Plains Lutheran (tied for third in the high jump), Ricky Berndt of Deuel (fourth in the 1,600 and fifth in the 800), Cristhian Rodriguez of Hamlin (fifth in the javelin), RJ Perry of Great Plains Lutheran (sixth in the discus, and eighth in the shot put), Adam Moe of Florence-Henry (tied for sixth in the high jump), Payton Brown of Milbank Area (seventh in the 800), Kaden St. Pierre of Hamlin (seventh in the discus), Jayden Johnson of Milbank Area (tied for seventh in the pole vault), Alex Schumacher of Miller (eighth in the 1,600), and Harley Zemlika of Milbank Area (eighth in the 110 hurdles). Area boys’ relay teams are: Hamlin (third in the 1,600, and fourth in the 400 and 800), Milbank Area (second in the 3,200, and third in the Medley), Webster (fifth in the 800), Groton (sixth in the 1,600), and Deuel (sixth in the Medley).

Other area girls’ leaders include: Ally Mullaney of Miller (tied for third in the high jump), Jacy Dexter of Milbank Area (tied for third in the pole vault), and Ryli Thompson of Mobridge-Pollock (sixth in the 400). Area girls’ relay teams are: Mobridge-Pollock (seventh in the 1,600, and eighth in the 3,200), and Clark-Willow Lake (eighth in the 1,600).
