Several Aberdeen Central athletes moved up in this week’s Class AA Track and Field Leaders following season-best performances this past week.
Aiden Heimann climbed up one spot from second to first in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles after he clocked a time of :39.97 at the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet.
Grace Kuch improved her position in a couple of events. She moved from sixth to third in the discus following a throw of 120-feet, 10-inches in the discus, and also moved into the eighth spot in the shot put. She is also sixth in the javelin. Teammate Taryn Hermanson had a season-best throw in the shot put at ESD and continues to remain second in the AA leaders.
Ciara Frank remained number one in the high jump and second in the long jump. Taryn Nieman is fourth in the discus, while Regan Lust is tied for fifth in the high jump.
Jett Carlson joined the leaders this week in the javelin after his throw on Tuesday and is positioned in eighth.

Other Golden Eagles among the leaders for boys are Drew Salfrank who is fourth and Carter Dingman who is eighth in the 400-meter dash. Both are members of the top 1,600-meter relay squad along with Heimann and Gabe Johnson, along with Tyler Bain who is tied for fifth in the high jump, Brian Johnson who is eighth in the discus, and the 800-meter relay squad which is fifth.
