SIOUX FALLS – Aberdeen Central had its first tripleheader action in softball at Sherman Park in Sioux Falls on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles fell to Rapid City Central 13-8 before suffering 15-0 setbacks to both Sioux Falls Washington and Sioux Falls Lincoln.

The Eagles could not overcome an early 6-1 deficit against Rapid City, although they kept chipping away at the margin.

Addison Ward plated a run in the second inning on a sacrifice fly. Aberdeen added two more runs in the fourth, one coming on an RBI single from Reese Comstock. Laney Gonsor’s single drove in a run in the fifth, a passed ball and an Ayrlie Waldo single plated two runs in the sixth, and a bases-loaded walk and hit batter produced the final two runs in the seventh.

Kylee Hoffman and Kaylee Dixon each finished with three hits, while Waldo, Ward, and Alivia Roettele each contributed two.

The Golden Eagles managed just one hit against Washington. Comstock singled after two straight walks to load the bases with one out in the third inning, but Central was unable to push a run across.

Aberdeen had three hits against Lincoln with Comstock again delivering a single.

The Eagles are scheduled to host Watertown at 4 p.m. Monday at Koehler Hall of Fame Field.
