Great Plains Lutheran collects both team titles at ECC meet

WEBSTER – Great Plains Lutheran swept the team championships at the Eastern Coteau Conference track and field meet Tuesday in Webster. Britton-Hecla finished runner-up in team points in both divisions.

Sophie Kannas had a big day for the Panthers, winning the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, and running on the first place 400-meter and Sprint Medley relay squads. Teammates Hallie Bauer won the 1,600 and 3,200 and ran on the Medley, and Kyrie Roberts the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, and was a member of the winning 400 and 800 relay squads.

Britton-Hecla’s Daniel Person also had a huge meet, winning the 800, and running on the winning Medley and 3,200-meter relay squads for the Braves. Britton-Hecla also won the 1,600-meter relay.

Micah Holien of Great Plains Lutheran won the 100 and 400, and Mehki Keller of Florence-Henry won both the long jump and the triple jump.
