GROTON - Groton walked off Sioux Valley without the aid of a hit in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 4-3 high school baseball victory Wednesday night. Colby Dunker walked, stole second base, advanced to third on a passed ball and then came on an error by the leftfielder on a fly ball hit by Logan Ringgenberg. Sioux Valley forced the bottom half of the seventh with some late-game heroics of its own in the top half of the frame. Down to its last out, the visitors tied the game on a run-scoring double by Connor Gross. That hit was just one of two surrendered by Groton pitcher Dillon Abeln, who struck out 10 batters in seven innings of work. Groton jumped on top with two runs in the fourth inning on a run-scoring double by Cade Larson, and a run-scoring triple by Brevin Fliehs. The Tigers scored its other run in the sixth on an error.
