Redfield opens Legion season with 15-run victory

REDFIELD – One day after falling in the high school state tournament, Redfield was right back at it, opening its American Legion baseball campaign with a 16-1 win over Castlewood Tuesday night.

Redfield scored multiple runs in each of the four innings on the way to the victory.

Peyton Osborn, Erik Salmen, Elliott Komraus, and Nolan Gall each had RBI hits to fuel a six-run first inning for Redfield. Salmen added a run-scoring triple in the second, while Peyton Osborn drove in a pair with a single and Salmen had another RBI hit in the third.

Redfield put the finishing touches on the win with five more runs in the fourth. Komraus drove in two with a double, Kevin Weller had an RBI double, and Camden Osborn ended the contest with a two-run single.

Peyton Osborn and Salmen each had three hits and drove in three, while Komraus had two hits and also knocked in three to help power the victory.
