Sioux Valley sweeps LCC track and field titles

HAYTI – Sioux Valley won both the boys’ and girls’ team championships at the Lake Central Conference track and field meet on Tuesday.

Deuel was second in boys’ team points, while Hamlin was runner-up in the girls’ division.

Hamlin’s Zac VanMeeteren won the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash, and Deuel’s Ricky Berndt won the 800 and 3,200.

Hamlin’s Gracelyn Leiseth won the shot put and discus in the girls’ division.

Clark-Willow Lake dominated the girls’ relays winning all but the medley and finishing second in that one.

Kelsey Hofer and Johanna Vandersnick each ran on three first-place relays for the Cyclones, while Samantha Brenden, Musonda Kabwe, Kamryn Nesheim and Cadence Bochek each ran on pair of wining relays.
