Wolsey-Wessington boys, girls runner-up at Region 2B

ELKTON - Deubrook Area swept the team championships at the Region 2B track and field meet on Thursday, while Wolsey-Wessington was second in team points in both divisions. Deubrook won all five relay races on the boys' side and edged Wolsey-Wessington by four points. Deubrook won three of the relays on the way to capturing the girls' crown, 22 points better than the Warbirds. The Wolsey-Wessington boys were led by Joey Hoverson who won the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Caleb Richmond won the 800, Moshe Richmond won the high jump, and Carson Walters won the pole vault. Mya Boomsma had a role in two victories for the Wolsey-Wessington girls. The senior won the long jump and ran a leg on the winning 400-meter relay along with Lainey Uttecht, Riyli Peterson and Kailynn Dorris.
