NORTHVILLE – Groton jumped out to an 8-0 lead and did not allow a run until the final inning of a 9-2 victory over Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern in American Legion baseball Monday evening.

Ryan Groeblinghoff tossed a four-hitter, struck out eight and did not walk a single batter in going the distance for the pitching win.

Groton took control with four runs in the third inning and two runs in each of the fourth and fifth frames.

Logan Ringgenberg, Braxton Imrie and Brevin Fliehs each had RBI hits, and Cole Simon added a sacrifice fly in the third. Ringgenberg drove in another run the fourth, and Bradin Althoff plated both runs in the fifth.

Ringgenberg drove in another run run in the top of the seventh on a sac fly, before W-I-N got on the board in its final at-bat. An error led to the first run before Henry Williams produced an run-scoring single.
