REDFIELD – The Dell Rapids Phils racked up 26 hits on the way to a doubleheader sweep over Redfield in American Legion baseball on Sunday. The visitors won the first game 11-1 and took the nightcap 14-3.

In game one, Dell Rapids scored the game’s first six runs and allowed just four Redfield hits en route to the win. Redfield’s lone run came from in the fourth inning on a bases-loaded balk allowing Nolan Gall to score.

Dell Rapids, which improved to 18-2 on the year, posted five more runs in the sixth inning to close out the contest.

In game two, the Phils again started fast, scoring four runs in the top of the first, before Redfield answered back with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Camden Osborn scored on a Keaton Rohlfs single before Rohlfs later scored on a single by Gall, cutting the deficit in half at 4-2. Redfield added another run in the second as Kellan Hurd scored on another RBI single by Rohlfs, cutting the deficit to a single run. However, Dell Rapids pulled away from there, scoring three runs in both the third and fourth innings, and four runs in the fifth inning to earn the 11-run victory.

Rohlfs led the Redfield offense with two hits and drove in a pair. Redfield slipped to 15-7 on the season.
