Lake Norden-Badger grabs walk-off win over Redfield

LAKE NORDEN – Lake Norden-Badger scored on a one-out error in the bottom of the seventh inning to walk off Redfield 4-3 in American Legion baseball action Thursday night.

The hosts had back-to-back singles to start the frame, used a bunt to move the runners to second and third, and Cristhian Rodriguez came home with the winning run on a Redfield error.

Lake Norden-Badger jumped in front 3-0 to start the game with two runs in the first inning and another in the second. Dawson Noem doubled and moved up on a single by Rodriguez. Noem then scored on a passed ball before Rodriguez came in on a wild pitch. Lake Norden-Badger added a run thanks to an error in the second.

Redfield then responded with three runs of its own to tie the contest. Camden Osborn singled, stole second and third before scoring on a wild pitch in the fourth inning. Kevin Weller had a run-scoring single and another run came in on a ground out in the fifth.

Lake Norden-Badger threatened to score in the bottom of the fifth, but left the bases loaded.

Rodriguez finished with two hits and drove in three runs to lead Lake Norden-Badger.

Seth Siebrecht struck out six batters in his start for Redfield, while Noem fanned five for Lake Norden-Badger before a trio of pitchers came on in relief.
