NORTHVILLE – It doesn’t get much more exciting than this.

Redfield and Clark-Willow Lake each scored walk-off victories during the Region 6B American Legion baseball tournament Tuesday night in Northville.

Redfield rallied past Groton 11-10, and Clark-Willow Lake edged Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern 7-6. All four teams scored runs in the seventh inning as no leads proved safe. Earlier in the day, Clark-Willow Lake defeated Faulkton 5-2.

Redfield overcame a 5-0 deficit in its victory over Groton. The two teams traded four-run seventh innings.

Groton scored four two-out runs in the top of the seventh to erase a one-run deficit and grab a 10-7 lead. Bradin Althoff and Colby Dunker both delivered two-run singles.

Redfield then responded with four runs in the bottom of the seventh to record the victory. The first run scored on an error, before Seth Siebrecht tied the game with a two-run single. The winning run came in a ball hit by Kellan Hurd. The Groton fielder went home with the throw, but it was not in time to throw out the runner to give Redfield the victory.

After scoring a run in the first, Groton opened up a four-run lead in the third inning as Althoff doubled in a run, and Dillon Abeln drove in a pair with a single. Tate Larson’s RBI single in the fourth to put Groton up 5-0.

Dunker drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth to set up the dramatic seventh-inning finish.
