HURON – Aberdeen Central finished in 10th place while Aberdeen Roncalli posted a 12th place showing at the Huron Invitational at Broadland Creek Country Club Friday. Central was led by Cole Brust, whose round of 80 put him in a tie for 23rd overall. Peyton Brust carded an 83, and Quincy Madsen turned in a round of 85. Roncalli, fresh off its fifth straight Northeast Conference title a handful of days previously, turned in a tight grouping of scores led by Jesse Hernandez’s round of 87. Finn Anderson followed with an 88, while Andrew Gerlach and Lucas Daggett each finished with a score of 89. “I think the heat the last couple of days got to us today,” said Roncalli coach Jon Murdy. “Nobody really had their A or even their B game today. But you need those rounds sometime to help them want to work harder and get better.” Both squads will return home for the Hub City Invitational at Lee Park Golf Course on Tuesday. Team scores: 1, Watertown, 296; 2, O’Gorman, 2
