Dimock-Emery blanks Miller-Wessington at B amateur tourney

MITCHELL – Miller-Wessington outhit Dimock-Emery, but failed to cash in during a 2-0 setback at the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament on Saturday night.

Miller-Wessington had six hits in all and put runners in scoring position in the second, fourth, seventh and eighth innings. However, the Outlaws were unable to scratch a run across.

Meanwhile, the Raptors made the most of their chances. Bryce Smart stole home in the second inning, one of eight stolen bases on the night for Dimock-Emery.

The Raptors added an insurance run in the fifth inning when Peyton Nash doubled and later scored on a single by Phil Johnson.

Rafael Clemente and Jay Winter each had two hits for Miller-Wessington. Layne Cotton struck out five batters in five frames and also doubled for the Outlaws.
