REDFIELD – Elk Point-Jefferson earned its way into the title game of the State B Legion Baseball Tournament with an 8-5 win over Tabor on Tuesday afternoon.

The win was the fourth in a row for the Huskies after an opening round loss on Friday.

EPJ scored four two-out runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a lead it never lost. Jacob Gale and Noah McDermott each had RBI singles, while Ben Swatek and Jordan Anderson each drew bases-loaded walks to power the uprising.

Evan Hailey added a run-scoring single in a two-run fourth as the Huskies built an 8-2 advantage.

Tabor closed the gap with a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth, but was unable to get over the hump to win its fourth straight game after also suffering a first-round setback.

Tayson Swatek had three hits to lead Elk Point-Jefferson, while Anderson drove in a pair.
