SIOUX FALLS – The Aberdeen Central tennis program split a pair of matches Saturday to wrap up a 5-match weekend at the Sioux Falls Invite. The Golden Eagles swept Sioux Falls Roosevelt, then capped the day with a 6-3 loss to Sioux Falls Lincoln. On the heels of three matches the day before, Central did not catch much of a breather overnight, as its morning match against Roosevelt began an hour early in an effort to avoid playing too long in the heat. Still, said coach John Vogel, the Golden Eagles came out focused and ready. “We won 9-0 with no close matches,” he said, “which was impressive due to how tired we were from the day before.” The Golden Eagles then turned their attention to the Patriots and entered the doubles portion of that contest tied at 3 matches apiece. “Livia Douglas’s win (at No. 4 singles) in a third-set tiebreaker was great to see because that same girl beat her last season,” Vogel said. “Laney (Gonsor) and Julia (Knie) also picked
