MITCHELL – The Milbank Firechiefs built an early lead but could not hold off Lennox Only One in a 12-3 setback during the first game of this year’s State B Amateur Baseball Tournament Wednesday night.

Mitch Quade doubled and later scored on a ground out to give Milbank a lead in the top of the second. The Firechiefs then extended their lead on Kellen Hoeke’s two-run single in the third inning.

Lennox got one run back in the third and then exploded for 11 runs in the fourth to take control. Lennox pieced together seven hits in a row during the frame, including a three-run home run from Matt Storo. Lennox later plated three runs on a bases-loaded error.

Quade and Taylor Boerger each had a pair of hits for Milbank.
