Warner turns back Wolsey-Wessington to stay unbeaten

WOLSEY – Top-rated Warner improved to 6-0 on the season with a non-conference volleyball victory over Wolsey-Wessington Monday night. The Monarchs needed extra points in two of the sets on the way to a 27-25, 28-26, 25-11 win.

The two-time defending State B champions racked up 49 kills on the night, led by Kyleigh Schopp and Kyra Marcuson with 14 apiece. Marcuson and Courtney Bjorgaard each had a pair of ace serves. Reagan Wood finished with with 21 set assists and Libby Scepaniak followed with 15.

Kailyn Dorris collected 13 kills and Lainey Uttecht contributed 11 for the Warbirds, who are in the receiving votes category in this week’s poll.

Serving: Warner 76-79 5 aces (Kyra Marcuson 13-13 2 aces, Courtney Bjorgaard 15-17 2 aces, Lauren Marcuson 17-17); Wolsey-Wessington (Lainey Uttecht 12-12, Shae Uttecht 11-11).
