REDFIELD – Aberdeen Roncalli’s Finn Anderson won a two-hole playoff to earn medalist honors at the Redfield Invitational Golf Tournament at Fisher Grove Golf Course on Tuesday.
Anderson and Watertown’s Brody Torgeson each finished with a 79, one stroke ahead of both Brevin Fliehs of Groton and Jonathan DeBoer of Milbank Area. Anderson then defeated Torgeson on the second-playoff hole.
“It was fun to watch Finn on the second hole of the playoff,” said Roncalli coach Jon Murdy. “He didn’t have his best today. I’m hoping it will give him some confidence going forward.”
Watertown won the team title with a 324. Roncalli finished third with a 337.
The rest of the Cavaliers were in a tight bunch, led by Gannon May with an 85 in 19th place.
Roncalli competes in the Sisseton Invitational next Thursday to round out the regular season.
