PARKSTON – Aberdeen Roncalli finished sixth in team points, led by a top-10 finish from Finn Anderson at the Parkston Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday.

Chamberlain won the team title behind the medalist play of Dakota Munger who fired a 68, five strokes better than runner-up Eli Anema of Sioux Falls Christian.

Roncalli finished with a team score of 315, just seven strokes behind Chamberlain, and just two strokes out of second place.

“I’m happy how the kids played today,” said Roncalli coach Jon Murdy. “It was a tough day with the wind and heat.”

The Cavaliers were led by Finn Anderson who tied for ninth with a 78.

A trio of Roncalli golfers were packed within one shot of each other. Andrew Gerlach and Gannon May both shot rounds of 82, and Lucas Daggett finished with an 83.

“It was great to see Gannon start to show his potential on the golf course,” Murdy said.

Jesse Hernandez fired an 86, and Matthew Gerlach shot a 97.

The Cavaliers play at Groton on Thursday.

“I hope we can keep the momentum going into next week,” Murdy said.
