IPSWICH – Aberdeen Christian added a pair of wins to its season total Saturday afternoon, taking down Langford and Ipswich in three-set affairs at the Ipswich Tournament.
The Knights defeated Ipswich (25-11, 25-27, 25-18) and Langford Area (24-26, 25-20, 25-15) while dropping matches to Herreid-Selby Area (25-8, 25-16) and Kimball/White Lake (25-21, 25-17).
“The girls played very well,” said Christian coach Sara Powell. “I told them at the beginning that we just need to go out strong and that’s exactly what they did against Ipswich. We struggled against Herreid-Selby, but came back strong against Langford.”
Powell also noted several individuals played big roles in the Knights’ success in the tournament.
“Chloe (Bosma) had a great day hitting and serving,” Powell said. “Our libero Alexis (Isakson) was gone today, so we had our JV libero Brynn (Powell) step up today with 58 digs for the tournament. I felt all the girls played a big role in today’s wins. Everything seemed to click and flow.”
The Knights will head across town Monday to face Aberdeen Roncalli at the Roncalli Gym. that match is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
