VOLGA – The Madison boys and Sioux Valley girls ran their way to respective team championships during the Sioux Valley Invitational Cross Country Meet on Tuesday.
Each squad also had the individual winners as well. Dylan Gerdes of Madison won the boys’ race and Isabelle Bloker of Sioux Valley topped the girls’ field.
Area runners grabbed top 10 finishes.
Cooper Pommer of Clark-Willow Lake was fifth, Thad Kratz of Great Plains Lutheran was sixth, Deuel’s Caden Hourigan and Tyson Hagberg finished seventh and eighth, respectively, and Sam Manian of Great Plains Lutheran was ninth.
On the girls’ side, Kamryn Nesheim of Clark-Willow Lake was third, Deuel’s Jaycee Hourigan was fourth, and Hadley Gjerde of Clark-Willow Lake was eighth.
