Wings drop 3-2 decision to Johnstown at Showcase

BLAINE, Minn. – The Aberdeen Wings fell to the Johnstown Tomahawks 3-2 at the NAHL Showcase in hockey action on Friday.

The Wings fell behind early before Bennett Koupal scored his first goal of the season to tie things up in the opening period.

Johnstown scored the only goal of the second period, and then added an insurance goal early in the third. Aberdeen’s Logan Gravnik scored his second goal of the year with 5:40 remaining, but the Wings were not able to get the equalizer.

Aberdeen outshot the Tomahawks 34-29 in the contest.

The Wings, 1-2 on the year, will wrap things up at the showcase today when they face the Minnesota Wilderness.
