Wolves drop road contest to Winona State

WINONA, Minn. – Winona State scored in every quarter on the way to a 39-16 win over Northern State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference football action Saturday afternoon.

After trading field goals early, the Warriors scored 16 unanswered points to take a lead they never lost. The hosts then produced the final 13 points to secure the win after the Wolves had clawed to within 26-16.

Dakota Larson hauled in a pair of touchdown passes to power the Northern offense, one each from Anthony Vespo and Colton Hackel. Larson finished with 190 yards receiving on five catches.

Stanley Haskins Jr. led the Northern ground game with 88 yards rushing.

Charlie Larson topped the Wolves with 15 tackles.

Northern, 1-3 on the season, heads to Moorhead, Minn. on Saturday for a noon contest against the Dragons.
