REDFIELD – Aberdeen Christian split a four-pack of volleyball matches Saturday at the Redfield Pheasants Classic, claiming wins over Florence-Henry (25-23, 25-16) and Beresford (8-25, 25-20, 25-20) and dropping matches against the host Pheasants 25-13, 26-24) and Miller (25-13, 25-14).

“I was very happy overall how well we played,” said Christian coach Sara Powell. “We started off slow but definitely worked hard all day.”

Powell said the tournament field featured several high-caliber teams, including a Miller squad that is receiving votes in the latest media poll.

Christian relied heavily on its serving efforts, finishing the day with 19 total aces. Nine of those came against Beresford  

“All the girls did a great job of contributing,” Powell said. “We had a good day of serving and hitting. This team keeps improving and fighting with every match.”

Chloe Bosma turned in a solid day, finishing with nine aces (five against the Bulldogs of Beresford) and 14 kills at the net. 

Defensively, Alexis Isakson totaled 54 digs and was named to the All-Tournament team. Christian, 9-15, will be back in action Tuesday when the Knights head to Northwestern to take on the Class B third-rated Wildcats.
