Golden Eagles win one of three to start Scheel’s tourney

FARGO, N.D. – The Aberdeen Central volleyball team had mixed results to open the Scheel’s Tournament in Fargo on Friday.

The Golden Eagles fell to Fargo Davies 25-19, 25-19, defeated Wahpeton 25-16, 25-18, and lost to Minot 25-23, 20-25, 15-11.

Central had 21 kills against Fargo Davies, led by Grace Kuch with six and Ashley Wangler with five.

The Eagles picked up their serves in a win over Wahpeton, accumulating nine aces, led by Madison Miller with four. Kuch had eight kills in the sweep.

Central lost two pair of tight sets against Minot. Kuch had seven kills in that match and Wangler followed with six.

The Golden Eagles, 11-5 on the season, play three more times today in the tournament.
