GETTYSBURG – The Potter County girls picked up two team championships at the same time on Wednesday afternoon. The Battlers won team crowns during the combined Yellowstone Trail Conference and Central South Dakota Conference cross country meets.

Potter County scored 6 points in each conference total. The Battlers had the top four places in the YTC event with Dannika Kaup taking first, followed by Emma Schlachter, Jadyn Ahlemeier and Paige Ahlemeier.

Heidi Olson of Mobridge-Pollock beat that delegation when the meet was separated into the CSDC meet.

On the boys’ side, McLaughlin won the team crown in the YTC meet led by Jayden Taken Alive who had the fastest time among YTC runners.

Miller won the CSDC portion of the meet as Pierce Baumberger won the race with teammate Alex Schumacher second.

Potter County’s Nicholas Schlachter was runner-up in the Yellowstone Trail Conference meet and had a time that was third best in the Central South Dakota Conference meet.
