Soccer players earn all-state, all-conference honors

Aberdeen Central is well represented on all-state soccer squads, and also the Eastern South Dakota Conference all-conference teams.

The Golden Eagles have three members on the Girls’ Class AA All-State first team and one player on the Boys’ Class A All-State first team.

Seniors Ciara Frank, Deshani Peters and Kailyn Poppen are all first team selections as is Manuel Munoz.

Lauren Joosten and Jordan Grieben are second-team members. Kirra Stillman is an honorable mention pick.

The Groton girls, who finished runner-up in last weekend’s state tournament, have two Class A first-team selections and two honorable mention choices.

Jerica Locke and Kennedy Hansen are both on the first team, while Jadeyn Penning and Laila Roberts are honorable mention selections.

Groton is also represented on the Class A boys’ squad as Jacob Zak is honorable mention.

The Central girls, who finished a three-way tie for the ESD championship, have four all-conference picks. Frank, Joosten, Peters and Poppen all are All-ESD selections, while Bailey DeGroot and Stillman are honorable mention.

The Central boys, who finished second in the ESD standings, also have four all-conference members. Tyler Bain, Camden Fauth, Grieben and Munoz all are All-ESD choices. Hunter Erickson is an honorable mention selection.
