MARSHALL, Minn. – The Northern State women’s basketball team once again staged a second-half rally, only this time it wasn’t quite enough.

The Wolves dropped a 70-61 non-conference decision to Parkside on Monday evening. Like it did on Saturday, Northern fell behind early, but unlike a furious fourth-quarter rally to defeat Sioux Falls, the Wolves were unable to erase the deficit against Parkside.

The Rangers from Wisconsin built a double-digit lead in the opening quarter and led by 19 at the break. Northern outscored Parkside in the second half, but was unable to get over the hump.

Former Aberdeen Roncalli standout Madelyn Bragg finished with a career-high 28 points to power the Wolves. The sophomore was 14 of 21 from the field.

Alayna Benike contributed 13 points to the Northern total, while Rianna Fillipi added nine.

Northern, 6-2 on the season, hosts Minnesota State, Moorhead at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Wachs Arena.
