Groton’s Fjeldheim named NEC Player of the Year

GROTON – Anna Fjeldheim of Groton has been selected as the inaugural Northeast Conference Volleyball Player of the Year by the coaches in the NEC. This is the first year of the award, and one will be handed out for boys’ and girls’ basketball as well. To qualify for the award, players must be unanimous selections to the all-conference team and then one individual is selected from that group. “Anna has been a key part of our team for several years and has stood out in the conference for the last two seasons,” said Groton coach Chelsea Hanson. “Having her in the running to be a player of the year was such a great honor and achievement for her personally and for our program.” The senior played in 24 matches this season and helped the Tigers to a 20-5 record and a SoDak 16 appearance.
