UW coach Kalen DeBoer is a Milbank native, a University of Sioux Falls graduate and former coach of his USF college team. WSU coach Jake Dickert is a former assistant coach at SDSU, Augustana and USD. The No. 13th-ranked Huskies (10-2) won the game 51-33 to take a 75-33-6 lead in the series. DeBoer is in his first season with UW while Dickert has led the Cougars to a 10-7 record over the last two seasons and is 1-1 in Apple Cups.

Bob Hodgson ended up playing at Penn State, but also was recruited by Coach Knight at Army in the 1960s.

40 years ago on Nov. 26, 1983: Mobridge senior defense end Mike Monfore was named to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader all-state football 11-man defensive team.
